SEASCAPES

I am busy finishing 40 seascapes begun en plein air. Here are two examples

Along the Coast path at Lamorna, Cornwall

As a Dame Laura Knight fanatic, a regular pilgrimage to Lamorna is still an essential for me.

Time was when you could go down to the harbour past the smugglers’ pub ‘The Wink’, and Augustus Johns’ little wooden summer hut, and be shown round Lamorna Birch’s studio by his grandson Adam Kerr. Alas no more.

The Old Lookout at Sennen Cove

You can’t help gravitating towards Sennen Cove when you’re visiting Cornwall. From The Old Lookout perched on the cliffs, you can see Land’s End and The Longships, Basking Sharks and seagulls stealing ice creams from unsuspecting visitors! The night skies are velvety black.
